Day 13 Portland to Portland - Helena to Bozeman, MT
Get over the first climb, and the rest of the day would not be too bad. We had a good paceline to the first rest stop and tot the beginning of the climb. A nice descent and a real bathroom at a gas station were a plus.
Lunch was at mile 66, followed by a great, mostly downhill, 61 miles to Bozeman. Our pace line broke apart and we were down to just two of us sharing the work.
There was one crash today(not my group) and hopefully the rider will be OK. No broken bones, just bumps and bruises. The long day made for a later dinner and quick transition to sleep. That means my craft beer streak ended today. Guess I will have to bring Kathleen to Bozeman so I can try a local one. I hear they are pretty good. One more day in Montana. Tomorrow we skirt along the Yellowstone River and head toward northeast Wyoming.

Montana sure earns it’s Big Sky nickname, doesn’t it? Loving your posts and photos.
ReplyDeleteHey Rick - how about a review of the Domane SL7?
ReplyDeleteI do like the Domane SL7, but my Cannondale Supersix is more comfortable. I am really liking the disc brakes. They come in handy on the big downhills, although today one of our group discovered thaat her rear brake was not working. fortunately that wasn't on a super steep down hill!
DeleteHope rider is fine -- more and more beauty! Love it all.
ReplyDeleteRooting for you from Goose Nation, Rick!
