Day 26 Portland to Portland - Fairmont to Austin, MN

Another beautiful day in Minnesota.  The temperature was in the low 50s when we started. Just a few days ago, we were complaining about the heat.  Tomorrow's departing temperature will begin with a 4.  Brrrr!  80 miles and 1300 feet of climbing meant an easy day for the team.  And it was.  Except for the random rerouting to gravel roads.  There are a lot of gravel roads in MN!

The highlight today came at the first rest stop in Blue Earth, MN. That is where we found the Jolly Green Giant.

The landscape continues to be large farms.  Primarily corn and soybeans. Just like Maryland's Eastern Shore.  We did come across a few picture opportunities.

We made it to Austin in time to check out the local brewery.  The Angry Hog.  Pigs are big business here in the hometown of Hormel and SPAM.  Apparently the pig show is also in town.  I had my first Radler on the trip.  Very nice Lemon Radler from the Angry Hog.  Low Alcohol was perfect.

Tomorrow we head to LaCrosse, WI.  112 miles away.
