Day 29 Portland to Portland - Spring Green to Madison, WI

The energy was very evident this morning.  Everyone was itching to get to Madison.  A rest day and a half was just what we all need.  We had 54 miles to ride with three steep hills.

We left the hotel in heavy fog again this morning.  Unfortunately, one of our riders has gotten sick again and he was not able to ride today.  The ride took us through farmland right up until we reached Madison.

As we got to Madison, we rode along the lake and through nice neighborhoods.  Quiet streets without a lot of traffic. Madison is very bike friendly, and there were plenty of bike lanes when we got to busy streets.

Lunch today was on the lawn of the State Capitol hosted by the staff of Trek Travel.  A beautiful sunny day.  After lunch we had chores to do.  Laundry and a massage were on my to do list!

No brewery today.  Too much to coordinate.  Tomorrow I will definitely get to 2, to make up for today. There are 24 local craft breweries to choose from!  I will also make time for a trip to the bike store, the UW campus and ice cream.
