Day 30 Portland to Portland - Rest Day in Madison, WI
Today was a much appreciated rest day in Madison, WI. A really nice city with a great cycling infrastructure. Technically today was a 0 mile and 0 ft of climbing day. However, I did use Bcycle to get around town.
I spent the morning riding around, getting new cycling shoes and heading over to the University of Wisconsin campus for some ice cream. Little did I know, but apparently you can only buy ice cream here after 3pm.
So after a little more sight seeing and city e-bike riding, I did get my 2 scoops of ice cream at the Memorial Union and enjoyed eating it on the banks of the lake.
A quick brewery visit to Giant Jones and a German doppelbock before dinner.
Dinner tonight was at D'Vino in Madison. If you ever come to Madison, make sure you stop in for dinner. Really good Italian!
Tomorrow we leave for Milwaukee. On Saturday, we make our way to Michigan and the Eastern time zone.

Love the butterfly pic! Eastern time zone…wow! Getting closer to the finish line!
ReplyDeleteDidn’t know about ice cream after 3:00 only. . . Love Bucky Badger with UW’s theme song (especially helpful in keeping warm at home football fans).
ReplyDeleteClose to Eastern time; probably a little melancholy and anxious all at the same time. Keep on keep on...can't wait to hear your stories...😊😎 much love from Brenda and Joe
