Day 44 - Ticonderoga NY to Hanover NH
The ride today included a trip over Brandon Gap. 6.8 miles and 1700 ft in that climb alone!
The weather cooperated today and we had a beautiful and sunny ride with perfect temperatures. The fall colors are very evident here in New England.
Our ride ended today in Hanover, NH. We arrived in town, along with all of the other visitors arriving for parents weekend at Dartmouth. Needless to say, the town was pretty busy.
No local brewery in Hanover, so we had to settle with beer at the Hanover Inn bar. They had plenty of local beer on tap, including multiple selections from Lawson's Finest Liquids.
Tomorrow we make our way across NH and at the end of the day we will be just 68 miles from Portland. Seems a bit unreal that we have already cycled nearly 3650 miles across the US. We are finishing just in time. The temperature in Hanover tomorrow morning will be 36 degrees when we set out!

Rick, reading your blog makes me realize that if I ever attempt a similar feat, I need to allow for at least 3-4 times the amount of time! I'm so impressed with what you have accomplished. Congrats and enjoy the last rides! Steve T
ReplyDeleteWonderful! You all are to be congratulated for making this ride. Beautiful scenery, new friends and a craft beer tasting event nearly every day! See you Saturday. Remember to stop after riding into the Atlantic Ocean.😁
ReplyDeleteSo many miles!!! We will all be seeing you soon! Must seem surreal to have biked cross country! Mind blowing!
ReplyDeleteHope it’s not too late to recommend breakfast at Lou’s in Hanover! Missy
